Like most of us might know already, the open day was cancelled but the spotters event for the Friday 3rd September looks very promising. Hope to see some fencecheckers as well overthere. I will be there.

Just returned from a 2 day trip to Germany visiting Eggebek and Jagel airbase.
Sure one of the highlights for me this year, Still have to sort many scans and slides but already a preview from yesterday.

Although I shot most of the event with Provia slides, the D-10 helped out as well.
Here some more from today at Jagel.

What's with the dark evil emoticon hiding in the background of your first shot? Oh, yeah...the airplane's cool too!

Excellent shots Andre` and amazing art work on those planes. Wish we had something comparable around here. The latest rumor is that the US Navy will no longer allow full color tail markings or Langley stripes. CAGs will only be allowed a colored emblem to separate them from the rest of the unit. This is due to the extra $$ spent for paint and labor for full tail markings. Hopefully the Marines will not do the same.

Thanks guys ! The German Luftwaffe did an excellent job on arranging the event. For a 25 euro fee (for charity goals) they managed to get us close to the runway for most of the day allowing to get good shots of the aircraft taking off, landing and taxing by. Tyson, the big emoticon in the back is some kind of guard watching us. If it starts looking mean, its time to go. Kevin, I too am surprised that so many colored birds appeared during a period of time where many air forces cut down budget. Not all invited teams showed up (including our own Air Force.... ) but many others did. Well, the nice NJ ANG KC-135E was awelcome visitor as well. The tiger insignia was only at one side but one doesn't see often KC-135's with art work at all. André

She's holding his tail in public . Great shots , got to love the Trabi. JG73 has one as well, 29+13, Rudi... And they always leave a nice smoke-trail, those lovely two-stroke engines! Mickey PS: Terug naar de dame met de tijger: Je weet, als ze een leren broek heeft, heeft ze ook leren... Figure that one out!
