Huh  Were we at the same show?  2006 had the F-22, F-15E and F-16 test birds, AR-ANG Vipers, NTPS Beaver and T-38, a nice C-2, a VFA-137 F/A-18E....  And it was a much bigger static display than in 2005!

There weren't many heavies, but they're usually next to impossible to photograph on static anyways -- a big airplane means you need a larger gap between tourists.  Wink

Has anyone else noticed the LACK of acc demos scheduled for Oceana? Their website says they're having the Raptor, but I don't see that on ACC's schedule...Not that it's not going to be an awesome air show without them, but they will add a different aspect. This year will hopefully be my second time at Oceana as I'll be taking some househunting leave in the Norfolk area at the time!

Yes, Corky is aware the schedule looks like they've been overlooked for demos. He's checking into it. Last we chatted, he was told they were getting the raptor and one more team.

Sweet, Oceana's the best, bar none. Would be something lacking though if the zoomers didn't bring something in.

Note from Corky this morning...

"Spoke to ACC this am. The schedule for Oceana is approved as written; F-22, F-15, Ed Shipley. To be determined (but very likely) will be the B-2 flyover and F-117 static/flybys."

Note - the F-15 will be the C-model. I see ACC has updated their schedule and this information is there now, too.

I've been told that Dueling Sabres is a very good possibility for Oceana. Don't quote me though. It's still a few months off and things can change.

I'm new to this game. I am planning on attending Oceana on the Saturday. Can any of you really experienced types give me tips on the layout, timings and so forth?

Really appreciate any help.

Without the Tomcats to balance out the Hornets and Super Hornets, Hornets could get a little old, but my experience with Oceana is that this will still be a great air show with a lot of variety to keep it from being boring.

I have my tickets and I am looking forward to September.

 Cool
