Join me in my travels from one land of snow and ice to another in search of Tiger-schemed airplanes at a Tiger-themed event.

Great article and pictures! Now I can't make up my mind, Tiger Meet or Axalp for a European trip. Guess I'll have to talk my husband into both.

Thanks for the positive feedback, everyone.

Sededeme, you don't have to hike up a mountain at Řrland like you do at Axalp ... but Switzerland has chocolate and Norway has fish.  You decide.  Cheesy

Scanor, I didn't see you either.  Sad But it was a big crowd.  I've also booked a room already for 2013* -- and in Brekstad, this time, so no more daily ferry rides!  Dance

If all the airshow and exercise cancellations in the US have left you with money in the kitty and a craving for fast jets, think about a trip to Norway: the NATO Tiger Meet is back in Řrland this year.  There will be more aircraft taking part this time (from 14 countries!) then there are at some Red Flags.  Anyone may register for the June 21st Spotter's Day here.  The same site also has details of the public airshow on the 22nd.

Mark,

I will be attending this year in Orland. I have my hotel in Brekstad already. Your article and pictures have me more excited. Thanks for taking the time to write and show your pictures.

I just hope the weather will be great.

Since you have been there before...what tips can you give to a first timer to Orland??

Thanks,
Trevor

Bring lots of clothes, and dress in layers!  You may experience everything from snow to rain to sun and warmth in just a few hours.

And bring lots of Kroner -- everything is expensive in Norway!
