Does anyone have any detailed pictures of the P-51C "Ina the Macon Belle" showing the machine guns with the wing panels open? Better yet, does anyone have any pictures of the open gun bay with the machine guns removed, but the case and link ejection chutes in place?

Thanks.

Ron

On October 29, Steve Hinton checked out a new pilot in the A-36 at Chino.  It was an opportunity for the few Planes of Fame visitors to get some good static and taxi shots.

Below (Part 1):
(1) The A-36 ready to go.
(2) Receiving advice from the master
(3) Off he goes ...

Real airplanes have two wings and round engines. Real cameras have manual focus and film.

Part 2:

(1) Taxiing back in, the new A-36 pilot lets me know what he thinks of the plane.
(2) What a clean and slick design.
(3) At rest late in the day.

Here are several shots that I recently took of Peter Teichman's P-51D "Jumpin Jacques" which is part of his Hangar 11 Collection based at North Weald. This P-51 is one of the most original P-51 Mustangs in existence, having served with the famous 332nd Fighter Group, the Tuskegee Airmen, in Italy during 1945.  This Mustang has never undergone a major restoration and still retains her original patination and battle scars. She flies today as the only known airworthy example of an original "Red Tail" P-51D Mustang. She is painted to represent a P-51D flown by  Lt Jacque E Young of the 3rd Fighter Squadron, 3rd Air Commando Group, a unit that operated out of the Philippines.

Here is Peter Teichman and his P-51D "Jumpin Jacques".

Thanks Lance!

Last year was a tough one for pilots, hope 2011 will be kinder.
Very nice shots of a unique Mustang!  Smiley
