This show's about a week and a half away. Anybody going? I'm still waiting to hear what kind of statics they will have on display. There doesn't appear to be any info on their site regarding this. Boo-urns.

A few things I just found out...

The newest air show link is at:

http://www.greatstateofmaineairshow.us

I spoke with a media representative today, she mentioned some of their static aircraft, including a KC-135, MH-53, and yes, a B-1.    Let's hope  they show... most arrivals are on Thursday, they have a Friday night show so I imagine that their ramp will have to be filled before the parking begins at 4PM on Friday.

I'm hoping to be there for the Friday PM and Saturday shows.  The warbirds portion of the show look particularly different than the Pease and Westover groups... variety is good in my book.

Cheers,
Ken

I'm going to make the trip up for Sunday's show.

They just posted something this morning about the B-1 on static so that looks like it's good.  Brunswick is a nice place but lighting in the afternoon may be tough.  It'll be worth it for the trip to LL Bean though! Grin

I saw on another forum that the B-1 is arriving Friday for static display.

I see that the static display aircraft (of what I know is coming) are split between Thursday and Friday - no times known right now.  B-1, T-1, T-6 on Friday.  P-3, KC-135, MH-53 on Thursday.  Warbirds, other statics, not sure.   Thunderbirds arrive Wednesday from ACY, I presume.

Spent some time at BXM today... Seth Wescott, a Maine resident with a pair of Olympic gold medals in snowboarding, got to fly in the back of a Thuderbird... and earned his "9G" pin (he made it to 9.5 I heard).

Not much more to say about Brunswick today... rather slow although a few corporate aircraft came through.  Everything for the air show static display must be coming tomorrow.  The Thunderbirds, East Coast F-18 team, and numerous civilian performers are in already.

Cheers,
Ken

I'm trying to decide if I should go or not. I haven't been to a show here since I was a kid.
Does anyone know how the traffic usually is at this show? It's about an hour and a half drive from me (Portsmouth) but it might just be worth the trip to see a B-1. The F-18 and Thunderbirds don't hurt either.

I went to Brunswick  Friday  and Saturday; a great show with loads of flying and (except for the sun angle), great weather.  Here are a few from the arrival/practice day.  Thunderbird 5 jet(s) had issues during the Friday practice, and a total of 3 jets were parked with an inverted "5" on the ramp at once!

Cheers,
Ken

Hi Chris,  the B-1 made a normal break from an overhead pattern... just had some cool lighting around 5PM in eastern Maine.  A case of being in the right place at the right time.

Cheers,
Ken
