The best way to end my photo-year occurs a week earlier than normal this year... anyone know why?

They know I have something planned for the next weekend..LOL.

Its looking like this will be the only show I make this year; although I may get to catch some practice sessions this summer while we are enjoying a beach vacation in July...

Ok, the practice photos have been split and moved to the US Navy Blue Angels Display Team - 2010-2012 Postings thread. Thanks for keeping us up-to-date on their doings.

Back onto the show. I am thinking about this one as I've not been since 2004.

OK Liza, this looks good-you are on your toes aincha?? Living in or near Pensacola has been a dream of mine for a long time. I have always had a desire to
be close to the Blues. Soons I get a little more settled, I will begin enhancing the pics some. Presently just using a lil laptop and it sucks for what I am trying
to do. My regular stuff is in storage while I wait for a closing date on the home I purchased here. Hopefully that will be soon cuz this motel sucks. Furniture like
bricks and like sleepin on a sheet of plywood. My excitement about the Blues keeps me goin Cheers Cheers

I hate to be Debbie Downer, but I've gone to the last three consecutive shows, but I have to say that it's been a carbon-copy every year of the same show.  Also, that whole Thursday-Fri-Sat show thing grinds my gears.  It's cool for the reunions for the last show, but someone needs to talk to the organizers about changing the performers.

Before someone retorts with the minor changes in performers, keep in mind the minor changes are just that.  The majority of the performers are the same.

Count me out, but I hope everyone else has a good time.   Even Oceana changes things up.

Air Combat Command event site says that Viper East will be in attendance with a heritage flight with a Mustang. Still wish that they'd send a Raptor down since it's not scheduled for anything that weekend.. Sad

I agree. I rather see the F-22 Raptor that weekend than seeing the Viper East Demo Team perform a heritage flight. But you also got to think, maybe the F-22 is scheduled for Homestead that weekend than Pensacola. I wish we could just vote and get the Raptor for Pensacola NAS.

My understanding is that the whole Thurs-Fri-Sat thing was actually a compromise for having a show at Pensacola Beach AND at NAS Pensacola.  I believe the beach show is also Thurs-Fri-Sat and I'm sure others can back me up there or correct me.  When there is a change of command (this year) it is held on Sunday immediately following the Saturday show.

With regards to the performers, I've attended each show since 2008 and yes, there are indeed some repeats (Blues - obviously, Otto, Jan Collmer, and David Martin all come to mind) but each year they also seem to bring in some different names.  John Klatt and Max Adrenaline come to mind as well as Red Steel for this year.  I think that most airshows get some of the same performers year in and year out for whatever reason (sponsorship, performers loving the show site and/or the great treatment they get there and they WANT to come back, their local show, etc.) and that's something to consider.

That's an understandable reason for no Sunday show. Thanks for pointing that out. And ps.. any possibility of you heading back to JFK or IAD for a new spotting video?
