ROLL CALL!

Who's going?  It's a one-day show.  I'm coming in from Corpus with a rented Bigma.   I'm new to this area of the world so I hope to see some different aircraft and meet some cool photog's there.

I'll almost certainly be at Corpus.  Providing that I don't have a checkride or duty that is!  Even still, I live right across Oso Bay from the runway, I might be able to get shots from my apartment.

Laredo Intl Airport looks to have some very interesting aircraft based there.  From Google Maps, I see some Convair 240/440/580's, a few DC-3's, and from some pictures of past airshows, what appears to be a DC-6 or DC-7.  There are a bunch of cargo variant Jets there as well.  I'm not sure what will be within eye-shot from the ramp of the airshow, but the ramps look interesting to say the least!

Well, after a odd start, the show went off pretty well.  This is the first show that I have ever been to that would not allow anyone into the gates before the show started, i.e. before that aircraft took to the sky.  Normally, you can walk in early and get good ground shots of the statics before the crowd.  Not so here.  Unless you worked the show, they would not (literally) unlock the gate for you.
When I arrived there at 7:30am, I was annoyed.  When I was still standing in line at 10:45am and I still wasn't being let in, I was beyond bullsh*t.  This show was organized as a whole very poorly.  There was not a lot of ramp space open.
There was, however, a good airshow.  They had some big names here not mentioned on the bill.  Gene Soucy and the Showcat, an L-39 Firecat act from CA, the F7F, three AT-6/SNJ's two C-47/DC-3's, one B-25, and a few other ground statics that I didn't bother with since the ramp was cluttered with people.

No, none of his Bearcat's made it.  That was unfortunate because I've never seen one, and I know that he has a few (including Rare Bear).
