She obviously did not hear the NWS warning to turn around, don't drown...

Huddled against the storm...

Interesting sun filter from his own smoke trail...

The other Mustang...

Too much glass so I settled for this mini-Heritage...

1/50th at 190mm (and no caffeine)...

We had them covered from all the angles...

Hi'

After attending one of the best airshows ever (except for the weather Saturday) and going through my pictures.

Two questions come to mind:
- what is the female officer's role/job when Blue Angels are on display ?
- think I heard that the West Coast F-15 demo team stop in 2010 ? Does it mean that there won't be any F-15 flying demo anymore ?

// Best regards Georgetown

They will be done next month. Looks like Langley AFB is the last public demo (this month).

The "Female" Officer, or Blue Angel 8's job during the performance is to be in communication with Blue Angel 1 during the performance. She relys messages from Boss to the Announcer (Blue Angel 7). She queues the announcer on when the team is about to start the next phase of the demo, so he can recite that part of the script to the audience. She also assists the announcer in holding up the long list of all the non-flight personnel, so the Announcer can read it off during the show.  During the non-show periods, she is the Blue Angels Event Coordinator. (see their website for all the functions of that position).

In addition, she stands behind Blue Angel 7 and keeps him from falling over.

Finally finished my pics from the weekend. Got a couple of more that I liked. If anyone is interested, I have all my pics posted here and would appreciate any feedback or comments. Again thanks to everyone who organized the event and the pit. Keep all the great pictures coming!

I'm back - - from the dark throes of moving everything onto a new computer.  Tongue  The worst was e-mail and getting it to work. whip  I already don't like Vista.  Angry  Maybe I'll get used to it.

Now for a few final views of a wonderful time - including Darryl Worley concert, which was very welcome by the masses - better than waiting in the bus line.  And one more jet photo.

Steve:

I also like that shot. That is why I put it first. It is one that I intend on sending off to World Airshow News, along with some others that I haven't posted yet. I wanted to give them first stab at getting the photos before I put them out publically, but after Bob's challenge I just had to respond.

Got my World Airshow News today, BRDA. First stab time is over. Time for you to post.

Bill:

I promise to post my Tyndall photos soon. Right now I am still sending off the ones from Tuscaloosa and Vidalia. Then this week I have the Robins show to go to. Between my regular job, and the fact that there have just been too many good air shows here in the Southeast US too close together and the fact I shoot way too many photos (ave. 3000+ per day) at these shows, I just haven't had time to pick out all the cherries so far.  But rest assured they are coming.

...Hopefully the photopit group can hold back from posting a few of their favourite shots here and save them for the article...

Can't wait to see the article. Already 2.5 months in the making, to quote The Donald, "This is going to be huge."

With the death of Todd Green today, I was just wondering if he was the wingwalker that performed with Kyle Franklin at this show in 2009.
