Hi gents,

on April 2, 2009 I was able to capture the first demo-flight of "Sheik" with his new demo jet for the season 2009 - J-015, which he flew in to Volkel from Woensdrecht, after a splendid paintjob was applied on to the jet.

Luckily myself and dozen other people were waiting for this first demo today , and it seems the weather-god likes the Royal Netherlands Airforce's F-16 demoteam as we had during the fly-in sun at all.
So with a blue sky "Sheik" could perform his first demo in his new jet oberhead Volkel, before the jet was offically shown to the Commandant Luchtstrijdkrachten, luitenant-generaal Jac Jansen after his impressive solo-display.
The motto: "    "One Team - One Mission" is also applied on to the jet, and with the splendid c/s it will be "the" eyecatcher in 2009 on many, many airshows I´m really sure....

I wish "Sheik" and his whole team a good season and that many , many spectators around the globe can see this beauty in "action", and always "Many happy landings Sheik....."

Ok enough of my blabla.... let´s start the show and enjoy the pictures
C & C are more as welcome.....

Cheers
Mick

Sheik´s turning and burnung with his new "baby"....

The moment when he got me..... very , very fast and loud.....

Unfortunately during his first session no smokewinders were used and also no flares.....

Sheik on final..... what a beauty

I had the camera on 1/80th for propblur Embarrassed, 420 mm and a split-second window between the left-most Piaggio P-149 and a wind-sock making panning interesting to say the least, but I still managed to shoot MiG-killer J-063 taking off. Not sure if I like the result though...

We were wondering what kept J-015 so long after scrambling to escort the Polish Fulcrum in Wink. Did you shoot that formation as well? Oh, and Frank, have a look here!

To stay on topic, a Volkel Viper taking-off for the tactical demo during those same Luchtmachtdagen.
