i need a flash battery pack for a canon 550ex speedlite. i've knocked around the adorama pages, but i have a few questions.

what packs do you recommend for portability/management of all the sheit you have to have to take decent pics. i mean you got a body, a grip, a quick release, a flash, a better beamer and god help me when i get a flash bracket, so then i'll have another cord, and where do you hang or attach the battery?

i'll be using it for highspeed fill flash, what do you recommend for the quickest recycle time?

thanks mike

The Quantum packs are pretty good and so are the smaller Quantum Bantam packs.  They range from about $250 to $400 and hook onto your belt.  Not all Quantum packs fit with all strobes and you will have to get the $30 cord seperately, but that should fulfill your needs.

Mike,

I've used the Canon CP-E2 and I'm very pleased with it. If cost is an issue, the CP-E2 or CP-E3 are good alternatives. They hold 6 or 8 (in the E3) standard AA rechargable batteries. My CP-E2 cost $125 with the cable. The Quantum Turbo is another nice option, but it will set you back some more $$$.

Here's a thread on the subject: http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00Atsn
