The C-17 demo at Westover was amusing. They pulled out to the middle of the 10,000'+ runway and the announcer yelled, "go back, that's the middle of the runway, you can't take off from there!" Well, of course they had more than enough runway. A similar gag was made when they landed and then backed the plane up with reverse thrust. It was a good show, too bad the weather was lousy.

Another C-17 departing Frankfurt IAP or Rhein Main Airbase. Usually they taxi to the start of the runway and get airborne at this point. Only 737s and Airbus 319s usually turn onto the runway at this point  to begin their take-off roll.

This empty C-17 was feeling very lazy today and took the same shortcut. Never saw that happening before!
