Sad to say but the first Bone I ever flew is at this museum...I'd love to get there to see it someday. The place looks great!

cheers,

Hey guys,

JM I am a volunteer on saturdays, I do mostly the restauration of the planes.
Right now we are working on the F-4's. yep the HAFB red and white F-4's We are trying to get them done and then put them on poles in a missing man formation.

But before that we need to take care of all the ABDR  fixes they did and make flush patches.

Anyway let me know when you get around and we meet someday.
About the F-117 all we know is that we supposed to get one after they demil them.
we should also supposed to get a KC-135 and a C-141 I know that we are getting a F-104 from a museum in arkansas.

Thats all I know for now .

Ok guys,

This F-18 is the only USN jet in the whole museum.

During the years 1993-1995 The F-18 overhaul program was transferred to Hill Air Force base. After 2 years The U.S. Navy was not happy with the results they got from Hill AFB. The F-18 overhaul program was shifted back to NAS North Island where it has been ever since. The F-18 at The HIll Museum may have been one of the last aircraft that was worked at Hill AFB. The Navy was at odds with the AF personell not being able to deal with salt water corrosion. The AF personnel were telling the Navy thay too many of the early F/A-18A's were unservicable and would have to be replaced. This may be why this aircraft is at Hill.

couple of shots from a recent visit - husky tail end and a nice group of tails - can you identify them all?  The last is a C-124 - accidentally double posted in uncommom fixed wing to. . .
