Hey Ztex,

In one of your Apr-26 posts, of the old pics.  What is the aircraft in the second photo?  Is it the XB-70?  If so, do you have any closer side shots?

That lineup in the first shot is cool.  I see an F-104, T-38, F-105, F-102?, F-106?, F-4

Bill

It is the XB-70! I posted the pics over here ... http://www.fencecheck.com/forums/index.php/topic,9971.0.html

and more from the airshow here ... http://www.fencecheck.com/forums/index.php/topic,10009.0.html

Heck I'd be pleased as punch to just get some good shots of the VMFA-112 Hornets and 301FW Vipers.................I'd probably poop myself if some Harriers showed up or the F-35 flew.

Maybe we need a photocall to NAS FW............................... Dance

Well, the Harriers were sure rare, and i went out there for the first time since the first flight of the 35, and caught it taking off. Pretty awesome stuff out there.

Hi Gents!

First time here and it was my first time last Friday at Fort Worth. An it was Worth the visit!!  Shocked Great weather and even better planes! An what a spot to take pictures. Sad that I have to travel over 5000 miles, to take the shots, but if I'm in the neighbourhood I will definately come again. I'll post some pictures soon.

Erik, welcome to Ft Worth. Guys, kinda funny how we were all there, and non of us really said a word or knew of each other. Welli think it was Scott, and maybe Erik that were talking as i was leaving. But, well, we all kinda know now. I hear it's supposed to rain all freakin week out here. Angry  So i guess when it quits, i'll be back out there.

Hi Guys!
Just a quick question from my side. Are the harriers still there?? Not that I can come back to see them again, but I'm looking for the serial numbers. So far I could read off 3, so I'm missing 5 unfortunately. But if they will leave and someone takes pictures I'm sure you can read the serials.
So if someone can help, I will be very happy!

Thanks in advance.

There's a C-5 at Carswell, at least it was there as of noon yesterday. Came in Saturday night at sunset, and was still on the ramp as I flew over yesterday...

Pulled up to shoot at NAS Fort Worth this afternoon to the F-35 at the end of the runway surrounded by crash trucks.  Talk on the scanner sounded as if it had some sort of brake problem after landing.

I know the weather's been bad, and the F-35 had it's brake problem... But man it's slow in the JRB Ft. Worth Forum...

Here's a few soffy Spads I got the other day...

Little burner on a dark day...

Spray and Jetwash Takeoffs...

I sat around and waited for the Spads to return... and they did... but the straight in approach and landings didn't lend themselves to very good shots... Cry

man, ya'll have been getting some great shots out there lately!

I wish it wasn't so damn far for me to drive out there or I would come more often.  I've missed alot lately because gas prices have come up so much again.  The drive from Flower Mound kills me in my gas guzzling SUV.  Hope to come out again sometime...I still haven't seen the F-35 yet!

Great photos guys!!!!

It may be a while on the F-35.  I learned today it had  "major electrical failure". . and not the brake problem I thought had occured.

I thought it was a little odd that day.  Usually the test flights are somewhere between an hour to and hour and a half but that day the flight wasn’t much more then thirty minutes before it came back.   This picture was taken that day from the north side of the lake with the F-35 on final.  If I’m not fully up to speed on the flight control systems on the 35 someone let me know but is there something a little ‘asymmetric’ looking about the flaps and/or the elevons here?  My first guess is this has something to do with Carswell Dude’s ‘major electrical failure’.
