Hey guys,

After getting the ole scratched sensor surprise back from Canon service for a whopping $300, I bit the bullet and and went for one of the static-charged brushes.  The "original" brush from Visible Dust was gonna ring in at a whopping $130 plus shipping, which seems pretty steep for a brush made out of anything but plutonium.  Coppherhill Imaging, the P-Base site that 90% of us learned how to pec pad our sensors from, has a whole store full of stuff, including their knock-off brush -- with a battery powered blower to "charge" the brush, for 32 bucks shipped.

I got the thing in last night (speedy shipping) and went to work on the already dusty sensor... this thing is the bomb dizzle.  3 swipes and the thing is immaculate, including all the corner widgets and little tidbits.  I'll admit I haven't tested it much, but the same crap on my sensor today, solved with 3 quick swipes, would have taken me an hour and 30 pec pads to clean before (if I could have even gotten it all).  Maybe I suck at pec-padding, but man... nothing can be easier than pulling this brush out, charging it, and using it.

Not to plug products, but by god, buy one of these brushes if you haven't already.  I can't imagine the other one could work any better, so save money and get the knockoff one.

Just figgered I'd share the good news.

Here's a vote from another happy customer.  I bought the whole wet/dry kit last month and have been very impressed with the results.  Even shipping to Canada went smoothly and quickly.

Cheers!

Just ordered mine as well.  I have the wet kit already.  While the results are quite good, using the swab pad and eclipse process is very time consuming.  This is great for studio photographers, however - The inability to travel on commercial airlines with the Eclipse is a huge disadvantage to those who shoot in the field (or on the field - as it applies to us Grin).
