We'll have the F-4 and F-22 in high visibility this year as well. For those of you that went to the show in 2005, you'll remember that the F-22 and the F-4 did multiple passes. So long as their gas in their tanks and they're willing to fly, we'll let them do it!
We've also added the Red Eagles Aerobatic Team.

Who all is going to/planning to go to Tyndall this year? I have family there and currently live less than two hours away, but I am moving soon and going to be five hours away soon.
I hope I will be able to go (crossing my fingers!).

If at all possible, you guys need to go to Tyndall this year. Where else in the world can you see 40+ Raptors lined up on the ramp? I just hope that they do more than a landing break this year in the flying program. If you guys at Schultz could convince them to do something more that would be great! I drove almost nine hours last year just to see the raptor, and, yes it was great to see two in the air, but I felt ripped off that they didn't do anything else. (I actually thought the B-52's high speed pass was much better!) Is the Raptor flying in the heritage flight as well? The show looks awesome so far, just hope the super hornet doesn't get cancelled again like it did last year
. The static display was superb last year as well, featuring I believe the entire California ANG stock of Vipers (as well as a 2-ship demo), an upgraded CF-18, Tornado, BUFF, C-17, C-5, and of course the RAPTOR! I encourage everyone who possibly can to go! It's just an unbelieveable experience to see so many fighters at once!

The show does sound great. I should be there as long as I dont have any work commitments. I have family in P.C. so I already have a place to stay and all. Now I just have to find somewhere to rent some bigger glass.

For anyone heading to this show, there is an awesome location to shoot and or just watch arrivals for the show. While heading into Tyndall on Tyndall Pkwy. you will cross a large bridge. Immediately on your left after crossing the bridge is a small beach park that includes a huge Welcome to Tyndall AFB sign. I watched some of the practice show there last year and had great views of the heritage flight, and the Snowbirds. The C-5 from Dover AFB looked like it was going to land right on top of us! There is a small bay between the park and both Tyndall runways; it's perfectly in line with them. Plus, you don't have to worry about security coming to get you! I'll be at Panama city beach on Friday because my wife wants to go there instead.
I knew this would happen when I got married!

Incredible show...don't miss it if you all can go. Unfortunately I can't make it this year, just adopted 3 children. Please have pics posted to see how it goes.

I am a bit more than 50% sure I will be there. I have family there so I may have a base of operations which is nice. I also may have an Air Force buddy down there too, maybe a door or two can open? One can hope. If you need some help or anticipate needing help drop me a PM. I only live 75 miles from PCB too.

Rhinolover,
I may go down on Friday to watch arrivals if I can get there early enough. What times do you recommend? I dont know how early I can get down because its a five hour drive from Birmingham. Ugh.

Hey Brittmac, I would recommend getting there as early as you can, they follow pretty much the exact same schedule on Friday as the show days. Last year I had a ten hour drive from TN and got there about 1400 and caught the Heritage Flight (F-15+F-4) and the Snowbirds. I imagine that spot I described off 98 will be an awesome spot to see the Super Hornet high speed pass; he'll be directly over your head! A few of the arrivals came in after the Snowbirds flew; if I had a digital SLR I would have had some beautiful shots of the C-5 and CF-18 coming in with the sunset. I hope the weather's great for you and you have a blast!

Flying will be starting a little earlier this year than in 2005 with it kicking off at 10am. If you want to see the Raptor fly, come early.
We've posted the updated sched at tyndall.schultzairshows.com in both PDF format and on the website.

Parking will be allowed only in designated lots with a Parking & Shuttle service:
Signs will be posted directing motorists to the main parking areas on the south side of the base. Free shuttle bus transportation will be provided between the parking lot and airshow areas, operating continuously throughout the day.
Airport-style security will be established. Spectators may encounter minor delays due to mandatory searches.
Pets are prohibited. Prohibited items also include: weapons, glass bottles or containers, skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles and scooters.
All vehicles will be subject to search.
Other prohibited Items at the air show include knives (no matter how long), firearms, walking sticks (except for handicap use), pepper spray/mace, stun guns, scissors, box cutters, throwing stars, nun-chucks, coolers, picnic bags/baskets, backpacks, duffle bags, briefcases, big camera bags, big fanny packs and pets (except for guide dogs).
Exceptions to the above restrictions are baby strollers, wheelchairs, diaper bags and small camera bags. However, all items are SUBJECT TO SEARCH.
Still and video cameras are allowed at the show, but owners should not load film prior to entering the show area as they will be required to open all compartments at the Security Checkpoint(s).
Owners will be asked to turn pagers and cell phones on and off.
Please note that all persons, aircraft, automobiles, and vendors are subject to search at any time.
