The A-10 in the shots below is sitting on the very ground where it was manufactured and test flown. The tower in the back is the original tower for Republic Aviation and the Hanger is where the plane was originally made. The A-10 was the last plane series manufactured by Republic Aviation. These shots were taken Memorial Weekend 2009. The planes featured in the Annual Jones Beach Air Show take off from Republic. The American Airpower Museum is located in the very hangers where the P-47 Thunderbolt and the A-10 Warthog (among others) were manufactured. Almost all the planes are operational and they take off on the runways adjacent to the hanger (Now republic Airport). It is located in Farmingdale (Long Island) NY which is about 40 minutes from NY City. Link to American Airpower Museum; http://www.americanairpowermuseum.com/Website/Index.aspx
