Robert757, instead of trying to pick a fight, perhaps you can actually look at the pictures.  They clearly illustrate what we have been discussing here.  They are simply dumped from the card to the computer and then onto the forums.

FlyNavy, you have some great opportunities there and some unique aircraft that I am sure many would like to see a thoughtful selection of well exposed, well presented images that you can be proud of.  Take a few moments and edit, not only the volume but the quality.

Me tying to pick a fight?  Huh No way dude. lol Perhaps people should keep comments to themselves without knowing what the other person is limited to as far as computer and editing programs. I know what Dan has open to him as far as options. He's a good friend of mine. People just have a tough time saying nice things anymore.

See, this is one reason i stopped posting on here. You dont have to tell me about editing. I was a Navy photomate and know about quality. But i dont own a computer and im borrowing a friend's stripped-down mini laptop, hence no photo software. Ive been told by many people i should post on here again and i just wanted to share what has been going on around Oceana the past year. This seems to be a dead forum except for a few people like Robert757 and i was just trying to get the ball rollin. If i was able to afford a nice computer with Photoshop then you'd get nice, quality edited pics but until that happens, this is all i got....

The SD ANG F-16 was carrying live missiles and live ordnance is always a plus.  Planes based at Lemoore are always a nice catch here on the east coast.

Don't take my comment as a personal attack.  It was just a simple observation.

Climax Photo and Digital offers sensor cleaning options for less than $18.  My orders have all arrived the next day but I suspect it may take two days to reach Va Beach.  Order tomorrow and you'll be shooting cool Navy jets with a crystal clean sensor by Friday... Monday at the latest.   http://www.climaxdigital.com/sensor_swabs.html#eclipse

No worries. thanks for the info about the cleaning option. Ill look into them. My new camera is alright and most of these were shot on my old D100 anyways.

There are web-based editing programs like Picnik that offer most of the basic functions needed to edit photos properly - rotation, levels, contrast/brightness, sharpen/unsharp mask, saturation, and even a clone function for making sensor spots disappear.  The clone function is not as good as that on Photoshop and the sliders in the levels tool are pretty touchy, but other than that, it's a decent-performing program that will serve you well as a hold-over until you can get your own rig.  It's a free program and doesn't require you to download anything, but I think some of the advanced features like levels and cloning are only available with a paid account, which is something like $25 a year.  Was going to send this via PM, but figured there might be others who might benefit from this.

That's beautiful Robert  Cool

Too bad we hardly ever see a Tomcatter out here at NAFEC. I guess when I finally get back to Oceana again I'll try to catch one.

Weather looking good next week for a visit. Anybody gonna be out and when are the best days during the week to shoot? Hope to be there from Wednesday to Friday. Also is it possible to contact the PAO to get in the base to take pictures of the planes in the park they have there?
