And who is who here? (I recognise the short guy with the big lens, the tall guy with the shaved head, and the Indian guy...  Wink )

I had setup the tower visit on Friday for Sunday morning. When I was asked if I was ready to go on Sunday morning, I felt like the Pied Piper (not to be confused with Piper Pilot ;-) as a string of photographers followed. I was happy to share the experience. It was OK until the CO arrived to check on a VIP reception he was having there. We had to leave shortly afterwards, but not before capturing some great shots and a memory to last a lifetime. I'm next to Tyson on the bottom photo with the red shirt. He has a bigger lens than me ;-)

Great shots, everybody! That fireworks shot with the Tomcat is a classic, Burner  Afro I love those wetdown shots, Liza. You were in the right place at the right time, and probably got wet yourself in the process. My favorite quote from the weekend was, "I'm allergic to beer, let's order two pitchers!" Cheers Cheers

Many of us owe a debt of gratitude to Liza, who helped make the weekend special. Her kindness will not be forgotten.

Liza,
You got some AWESOME shots.  Were you ON the runway or do you have a lens the size of Chicago?

Thank you Pierce. That was kind of you. As for the hose down shots of Rocco, I was on the announcer's stand so no one was in the way.

12irish, yes to both. I have a 50-500mm lens, but was on the flightline for some of the shots.

Everyone has posted excellent vapor shots.

Dose anyone know what the story was regarding a high vis yellow tailed vf-32 marked f14 parked on the far end of the ramp?  I saw it on a few shot taken after the show.  Did it fly on any of the days?

I know it wasn't part of the airshow, did you guys get any photos of the 101 ceremony? I was there in the back but didn't take any pictures as it was way too hot for me to move!

Liza-

Did you get any shots of Smokin during the wetting down?  He specifically asked me if anyone got pictures of them when they were just starting to stand up and climb down.

Katy

Believe it or not, my 10 year old son got some great shots of Rocco and Smokin, getting out of the jet and shaking hands and climbing down (better than my shots) .  We were out front near Liza at the announcers stand. Got to run right now, but will post later this afternoon.

Not sure, think Rocco is the only one. I have a few more and can look later on this evening.

Wow. I will have a hard time picking something which stands out in this threat... Got one or two shots that I think are slightly different from what everybody else has posted but the standards are high! And there was dust on the sensor, as of Saturday mid-morning and I didn't know how to get it off after I noticed Saturdaynight while browsing through the pictures, Bart already snorring in the other bed! So that will take some stamping and cloning...

Anyway, we had a blast and like to thank M.M. in particular for his advice, fun to be around and look at each-other cut-off noses, wing-tips and tails, but most of all his persistance in getting the four of us on the flightline on Sunday-morning. You know what Mark, we drove to ATAC and they let us on the ramp, so we shot a Kfir and a Draken, with the cover on, but still! Great tip!!

As if we weren't lucky enough, we got KLM World Business Class seats on the flight back... So I actually slept an hour during the flight. The A330 is a real nice aircraft to fly in. Thanks Bart and KLM for IPB!!!

I will post some lateron this week when the thread reaches page 40-something!

Great meeting all of you guys and Liza. I am really bummed by that Hooters group-shot though. Missed opportunity... Oh well. I SHOT TOMCATS, WHO CARES ABOUT HOOTERS!!!

Mr Tomcat:  I agree that the F-16 demo (as performed by the US Air Force) is pretty blah... I've seen better and worse ones, but they dont seem to perform the jet.  I mean, come on, it's stressed for 9g, show it!!  But, despite the lackluster performances it is still my favorite fighter!!
