Thanks, Scott. One of the few pictures I've ever taken with the 100-400 that I've liked.

You can't see them here, but when I looked closely at the original file, I could see 312 Growler kills painted under the canopy. I was told a butter bar B-Courser got those kills in one week; his first week of flying the jet.

Another shot of practice for RIAT 2008 - Hi G turn at low level with reheat, note the condensation on the leading edges of the weapon bays

Very good shot considering the less than ideal conditions at RIAT that day.

Turns out it is a typical Raptor vapor shot. This from NO:

The Raptor generates vapor in all configs. Most have seen the high speed stuff. At a Tyndall practice, I saw the jet generate vapor all the way down the runway in its slow speed pass. I've also see a couple of times where the jet had vapor during the tail slide. This crummy picture shows that happening. Disregard the upper left cloudy looking thing, because it is a cloud, but look at the straight line left of wing root and all that to the right, and note the direction of the vapor. The jet is sliding backwards. The vapor is visible from the cockpit. First time Max saw it, for a fleeting moment, he thought it was smoke.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled good pictures.
