I was browsing through my old 35mm scans this morning and came upon this shot of #4. I believe this was in the mid 80's at a Cedar Rapids, IA show.

The Last I knew the last time the blues where in CR was in the 1970 when the F-4 crashed, but thats was my Dad told me and hes turning 50 and not the greatest memory. But if that pic is correct thats pretty cool that the blues flew in CR. I have photos from the 86 and 87 show but none of the pics show the Blue Angels. But a History teacher at my school told me that at one of the shows there was a A-10 Demo and my school's wrestling coach jumped into one of the shows. If you have any more photos from that show pm and show them to me.

When the Angels switched from the F4 to the A4 in the early '70s, the planes were modified at Plant 42 in Palmdale, and would be tested-shaken down at the airfield.. with a -very- complaint tower, permitting them to do passes down each side of the active runway, -while- the active runway was being used by other traffic!

I've always thought the A-4 was the best Blue aircraft ever. I was born and raised on NAS Pensacola with those beauties flying around all the time so I've always been partial.

Anyone else have A-4 BA pictures?

cheers,

Hi there,

Here my addition to the 'Blue' topic. Fat Albert getting airborne during their only European show in 2006, held in the Netherlands on Leeuwarden Airbase in June:

Hope you'll like it!

Im assuming the gucci is the Kc-10?

Thanks, Bob.

It should be noted that the visible dust spots are OEM dust spots. I didn't think I'd have to clean the sensor before I first used the new camera, but obviously I did need to.  Sad
