They need our HELP!

On April 15, 2010, Twenty-Five B-25 Mitchell Bombers are heading for Grimes Field, Urbana, OH. Their objective, the 86th Reunion of the Doolittle Raiders at the National Museum of the US Air Force.

Can you imagine the Photo/Sound-OP that’s going to be?

Twenty-Five B-25’s taking off, flying over and landing. I’m no Historian, but I think this may be the only time since the end of WWII this many B-25 were together. Of course that’s not counting the B-25’s being flown into the aircraft bone yards.

The USAF have provided new surfacing for the landing strip behind the museum and
The cost of the aircraft fuel, oil, crew housing and ground transportation is a fund raising project by volunteers and friends of the DOOLITTLE TOKYO RAIDERS ASSOCIAION INC., and they need help

I know these are hard times for everyone, but maybe you can donate to the fund by not going out with the boys and tipping a few, by not fueling your aircraft for one weekend of just flying, buy not buying that neat “Thing” that you don’t really need, do it next month, and buy not buying that expensive Valentines Day card and Chocolate Heart for your wife, tell her you donated a gallon of oil in her name instead.

Well maybe that’s not a good idea, you better buy the card and the oil, save the Chocolates for later.

And if you live in the extremes, like Van Burn, ME, Waatch, WA, Imperial Beach, CA or Key West, FL and you can’t come to Ohio, are you wondering just what the benefits will be for you, just think of all the great pictures you’ll be able to enjoy thru your efforts.

All the monies can be returned to the donors if our goal is not reached.  The Raiders have a 501c4 non profit status and a special account for this project.

If you can HELP in any way, please contact.

This a one-day event or will the craft be there throughout the weekend?

The aircraft will fly into Urbana on Thursday and Friday.

On Saturday the will fly from Urbana to The Museum and be there until Sunday,
when they either return to Urbana or head home.

Thanks for the gouge.  Looks like Thunder Over Louisville is the same weekend.  My buddy lives about 15 minutes away from the AF Museum so we may just have to head on out Sunday to see if there is still anything worth checking out at this B-25 gathering.   Azn
