Hi guys!

I'm currently building me a  Jolly Rogers 1/32nd F-8C. Altough the aircrafts livery is pretty famous with its Flaming intake is damn hard to find pictures of it.
I have found a few pictures on the net but they seem to be in contradiction with the decal sheet that I have.

The decals sheet that I'm using shows the VF-84 CAG bird serial 145558 and looks to have different tail markings as the regular line bird from which I have found some pictures.

Is there anybody who has pictures from a VF-84 F-8C CAG bird?

This is the decal sheet that I'm using,

And these marking are my biggest concern :

Did the CAG bird had the black & yellow stripes on the fin?
And was the "AG" tail code also outlined in yellow on the CAG bird to? Pictures conform that the line birds had the yellow/black AG code but the CAG bird remains a mistery as the decal sheet only has them in black .

Any pictures or help is very appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

As always, the decal sheet may represent a F-8C as it appeared on a specific day.  A week or a few days later she may have been rolled into the paintshop and some of the markings might have been changed ever so slightly as you've pointed out here.

I'd just go ahead and build her with the markings you've got.  It probably represents a F-8 that served as VF-84s "batmobile" at SOME POINT during VF-84s tenure with the Crusader.

Post some photos when she's done!

I've got a marvelous little 1/72nd Hasegawa F-8J kit done up with VF-24 "MiG Killer" markings.  Love the Crusader!

Cheers,
Rob
