Well, I have some Good News AND some Bad News to report regarding the WWII Weekend Gathering of Warbirds Aircraft List.

First – the Bad news….   Sad

I am sorry to report that due to a scheduling conflict Ron Fagen’s P-38 “Ruff Stuff” will not be able to attend our event this year. I know – I am as disappointed as all of you are I’m sure.  However,

And now for the GOOD News……   Afro Wink

We are in the process of finalizing the details and The Canadian Warplane Heritage’s magnificent Avro Lancaster MK X Bomber WILL be attending the event this year.  The last time the Lancaster visited Reading was back in 2006 and it was a tremendous hit.  The aircraft should arrive sometime on Friday June 4th and will be flying in the airshow portion of the event on both Saturday and Sunday!

That makes 4 heavies at the event this year!!!  The Lancaster & 3 B-17’s!

We are just a little less than 3 months away so make plans to attend now!

Please go to our website for more details and to purchase advance tickets for the Mid Atlantic Air Museum 20th Anniversary WWII Weekend – A Gathering of Warbirds June 4-5-6, 2010 at: http://www.maam.org/maamwwii.html

I look forward to seeing you there!

Thanks for the update LF, the Lancaster will be an awesome addition.  You all put on a fantastic show and I can't wait for June to come around.

Will any of the B-17's be flying during the airshow?  C-47's?

Thanks!

Usually what is listed under the airshow roster link is what will be flying, or at least 90% of it.  They fly from 1pm-4pm.  Last year they progressed from trainers to fighters to bombers.

Hey crimeguy, I see in the background of your Glamorous Gal shot there is a Mustang named "Never Miss".  Where did that one go, I didn't see it there today (SAT)?

  Check-six,
I'm not exactly sure!  I got the photo earlier in the day on Friday, it was parked on the "hot ramp".  I don't remember it being there later in the day though, so I don't know where it got to.

When you start looking into the history of these planes - it's amazing!

Great shot!  Thanks for sharing.  I love Mustangs and I knew who was going to be there and wasn't expecting this one.  It's a shame it didn't stick around for the show, although it was an amazing show!  I hope to get some of my shots up today.
