Here are a few of my favorites of 09. Not necessarily the greatest or most difficult to get but I liked the final result after editing.

From Duxford flying legends, very bla lighting, but I like the group of fighter pilots mid shot who down tools to watch the lowest performance plane on the field fly.

As the test pilot climbs out of the experimental aircraft, having torn off the wings and tail in the crash landing, the crash truck arrives.

The rescuer sees the bloodied pilot and asks, 'What happened?' The pilot's reply: 'I don't know, I just got here myself!'

I just installed Photoshop CS5 and tried it out by making a composite of 5 shots from the Reno Air Races Unlimited class practices last year. When these guys come roaring over the ridge heading for pylon 4 the sight and sound is almost overwhelming. They are low (real low) and flying fast. However, they are far enough apart that getting more than 3 planes in the same shot is not possible. So, I put together this composite to show what I see at the start of an Unlimited race. They actually fly just over the trees and are descending into a valley to set up for flying through the fastest part of the course, called the  "Valley of Speed". The largest plane in the photo is Steve Hinton's P-51, which won the Unlimited Gold race in 2009.
CS5 (at least my copy) had a serious bug that shut down the program after an hour of use, and I had to reboot my computer to use it...for another hour, when it would shut down again. As usual, buying software early means you are the "Beta Tester"...but pay for the privilege. I think my problem is fixed (the Adobe Tech Support was terrible, and made things worse) but I don't know what I did to fix it. I think Adobe simply (and quietly) sent a patch and installed it without any fanfare. CS5 is nice, but no real improvement over CS4 that I can see. Composites are sure easy to do, though.
I think there might be a better forum for me to get comments on this shot, because I am sure it can be done better, but I need some ideas on how. If I find a more appropriate forum to get comments I will re-post this.
