Jim, I like that head-on Blue Angel.

Christopher, I'm intrigued by your HDR processing. Normally I don't like the unnatural look of HDR, but yours come out looking more like a painting than any others that I've seen. Printing those on canvas would probably work really well.

I've been thinking that I should use canvas for my large format photos because the paper gets so hard to handle when it's larger than about 24 x 36 inches. Canvas is much more robust, but I was worried about the texture. Now if I processed them to look like a painting... I'm liking that idea!

Thanks!

Thanks Mate.  For many of my photos I try to get that painted look to them.  I can't draw or paint, but I can take photos, so I do what I can.  I think your idea of printing them on canvas is something I will try in the near future.  Brilliant idea, I will report back to you when I have it done.

Here is likely my last edit of the year:

There are two forms of this photo on my page, there is one that has a texture applied and this one.  This was taken at Quad Cities Air Show early this year.  I did a previous edit of a similar photo, but I like this one much more.

I have tried to compose shots with more smoke or vapor this year, to give a better sense of motion and flow.

Here are my favorite photos from a couple of shows earlier in the year.

Here are a few of my favorites of 09. Not necessarily the greatest or most difficult to get but I liked the final result after editing.
