UPDATE:
I received the Sensor Brush and this is a great tool to have in your tool kit box. Easy and smiple to use. Just a can of air and
a wipe of your sensor and done. I had a speck of dust from  from the Nellis show that I want to get ride of.  I have try some of the other tricks to clean your sensor but this one was the fastest  and best  one yet. The cost is high but well worth it. Give it try  I think that you will like it.. alot Afro

Larry,

I just found out about the Visible Dust sensor brush, it's getting rave reviews from Luminous Landscape and various other major photography websites.  However, the price seems to have gone up since they got famous.  I contacted Visible Dust a few days ago, and it seems that they only sell their brush in packs of two, for $US90!  Still, it apparently works brilliantly, so I'm thinking of getting one.  Does someone else want to go halves, one brush each?  If so, PM me.

Here's the website:

The price has gone up since I first saw the brushes, but went ahead and order them. I'm glad I did. I I've clean both my cameras with the brush and I feel that the sensors are cleaning than before and better than the other products that I have try.
I order the Econo 1.6X Kit: along with the  8mm Sensor Brush:
Make sure you check out the videos on the web site on how to use the brushes.

Dan, send your camera back to Nikon to have the parachutists removed. I noticed on DP Review that a bunch of Nikon users were bitching about skydivers all over their sensors, this could be related.

I think it may relate to the number of Heinekens consumed prior to shooting.

That's pretty bad. No doubt it should be thrown away immediately.  Afro

Yeah, I agree.  Send it to me and I'll ensure that it's disposed of correctly (probably via EBAY)

Getting back to the original topic, I found this site helpful.  They also offer a sensor brush, but for far less than the $90 quoted above.  I ordered their "sensor swipe" and "sensor sweep" kit, and will report back after using it.

Greg,

That looks like a far better option than the Visible Dust guy offers.  The plastic case he provides is just a relatively large rectangular box which the brushes bounce around inside.  And the price of the Copperhill brush is far more realistic.

From the sounds of it, I'd recommend this Copperhill brush to anyone who is concerned about their sensor cleaning.  I agree though with the Copperhill guy that no brush is going to remove stuck-on items - I've experienced that myself - so every so often a thorough clean with Eclipse will still be required.  But I can tell you that using a brush has certainly made me happier to clean my sensor more often, and it's certainly great if you're travelling.

Hi all Im new here, Love the photo of the passengers disembarking the Ryanair flight with parachutes!  Anyhow  Just been out and bought the Delkin Dust scope set and its great, It sucks the dust up instead of blowing it around the camera for later use.

Any new sensor cleaning experience / recommendation?

Not so much any new personal experiences, but some news...

The cleaningdigitalcameras.com site recently posted an announcement in their news-blog that Photographic Solutions has discovered that the original Eclipse cleaning-fluid is not harmful to Tin-Oxide-coated sensor-filters, and so they are discontinuing their E2 fluid which was introduced just for cleaning those sensors.

I have to admit I just recently discovered Curt Fargo's cleaningdigitalcameras.com site, and the advice, tests, and news seem really well thought-out (and they certainly jibe with my personal experience).  He's been mentioned here before, but not for a couple of years so I thought it might be a good time to remind folks about the site.

Cheers,

Geoff S.
