Looks like they had a good day at the museum!
Lots of folks there to see the B-17 Liberty Belle

Their new A-26 is Beautiful!

And thanks to Jon and Don for showing me around 927!
This is my first time to see her since her rebirth...and boy does she look great! They are taking good care of her!

Look Ma! No wheels!

it's a great museum, but i went there just before the P-51C showed up. i'll have to make it back up to Dallas to see it for the first time in one piece since 2002.

That Heinkel still airworthy?  What about the F9F Panther?  Also, is that a Commonwealth Boomerang sitting in the corner in pieces?  Drool

Cheers,

The Hienkel and F9F are both considered "flyable"...they flew in...but, from what I understand,  both are not flown because of the rarity of the types. I saw the F9F fly in 1996, and the 111 last flew @ 1999 or so...I think.
The Boomerang is actually a P-40 - 44-7369 (N40PN) I'm not sure why it is pieces...It was flying in 2008...

well not quite, they had the engine blow out while they were in Albuquerque in the Fall of 2008, they had to truck it back to Addison, they are still waiting for the engine to arrive and so they had been doing some work around the firewall while they wait, everything from the cockpit back they are leaving as is. They are also waiting for the Corsair engine to arrive as they sent it away to be overhauled.
