It is a shame that it has simply disappeared without any information on what happened or if there are any future plans for a Tucson Air Show.  I know from the traffic we get on this site there are a lot of people interested in the Tucson Air Show.

If anyone can find any information about the future of Air Shows in Tucson we would really appreciate a comment pointing us to it.

For now it appears there will be NO Tucson Air Show in 2009 or anytime in the foreseeable future.

I to was a little surpised that there is no Aerospace and Arizona Days this year, but not totally. This is where my double personality kicks in. One part of me thinks there is no show because of the poor economy. The other side says  the individuals in charge of Tucson didn't want it and don't ever want it back. Tucson is a military town and there are a lot of supporters of the base but there are a few who can't stand the base because of the "noise."  Those are the people who will be accomadated. Over the years Tucson has spiraled downward and for all intense and purposes has augered in. The only thing left to do in Tucson is to stand on the corner and watch people get tickets by the redlight cameras. I hope I'm wrong on the airshow, maybe we will see it in 2010 and maybe it will alternate with Luke Days. DM and Luke always had their show with in a week or two of each other and then there would be no shows in AZ the following year. Oh well we shall see.

Well an article in the Arizona Daily Star states that Aerospace and Arizona Days airshow will return in 2010. The reason for not having it this year is to offset the show from Luke AFB, just like I said. That way there will be an airshow every year in AZ now.  Afro Cheers COOL DEAL I can live that.

Yes and here it is...

D-M moves air show to next year, ending conflict with Luke's

The base's popular air show, which has taken place every other year since the 1960s and was due to occur again in March, has been put on hold and moved to next year instead.

The change was made to end a recurring conflict with a similar show at Luke Air Force Base near Phoenix, said 1st Lt. Mary Pekas, a D-M spokeswoman.

Wow, I had this air show in my head planned for my family trip forever.  What a disappointment.

Hopefully it happens next year.

Just to clue in the general public... DM?Tucson "usually" rotates airshows and 4th of July fireworks. So, if there is a fireworks display one year, then there will probably NOT be an airshow. Conversely, if we don't have a huge fireworks display, you can almost bet on an airshow. Disclaimer: All information given above is subject to change on an hourly basis.
