Well, not really a warbird as such, as the Fokker S-11 "Instructor" first flew in December 1947. But this looked like the best spot to put pictures of it. This trainer of Dutch origin has been produced for the Airforces of the Netherlands (and later used by the Navy as well), Italy, Israel and Brazil. Production totalled just over 100. Nowadays, still a lot of these cute little machines can be found in The Netherlands, but the type is almost unknown abroad.

The two machines shown below are flown by the display team "Fokker Four".

Another Dutchie S-11  Smiley. Brand new landing gear legs are currently developed, produced and tested on Service Centre Woensdrecht (LCKLu). These new "knees" will eliminate the problem of low availability of these parts.  Afro

At least one has gone abroad.  Cool  This Instructor (US FAA registration N911J) was in attendance at the CAF's AirSho, Midland, TX, Sept 08.

Hey Angry! I flew with Fokker Four once and had a blast Cheesy! Will scan* the air-to-air shots I got during that trip from Lelystad to Leeuwarden, just for you Tongue! Here's a recent one (ground to ground) for now.
