Thinking of making a trip out there for the weekend from California, for the AH-64 and Cargo heritage flight along with other opportunities.    What is weather usually like in October out in houston?

From October's track record over the last couple years, it looks like a 50/50 chance of either pure sun or clouds, with a 25-33% chance with the clouds for rain around the times that WOH has occurred. With this year's ongoing drought-like conditions and constant high pressure systems that are hanging out around Houston, I'd guess it to be bright, hot, and humid again... so far...

Maybe you could hit HOLLOMAN AFB on the 24th if you time it right!   Afro

Also...this show will feature the Colling's Foundation A-4 in the Nam portion, a Douglas flight with the A-4, A-26, and A-1 in close formation, TWO USAF Heritage flights, and of course, the cargo heritage flight. Plus B-52 fly-overs on both days!

Glacier Girl came into EFD in formation with The Horsemen (BEAUTIFUL FORMATION, terrible lighting  Cry), more A-10s arrived today from Barksdale<BD> (joining 1 that stopped in from Whiteman<KC>, and the Demo team<FT>... looked like the same two from last year), and the Blues used two #7s in place of #5 and #6 for two passengers during the private show.

The weather really blew yesterday, literally with 40Kt gusts and  MVFR/IFR conditions, for setup so much that most attendees deferred their schedules till today and there was even consideration into canceling today's practice show altogether.  Luckily the weather got better and we were able to fit in a late practice session.

Saturday dawned clear and sunny. Dance

This airshow lived up to its excellent reputation and provided an abundance of photo targets.  Max kudos to airshow management, staff, performers, volunteers, and their supportive community. Afro  The airshow hotdog and soft drink were tasty and reasonably priced.

A few quick picks...

They CAF folks put on another great show. Perfect weather lead to a "sold out" day on Saturday ( they ran out of parking! )

A few highlights

And special for the weekend. Load master Brad has a fine tribute to Gary.

Sunday was another gorgeous airshow day - clear sky and mild temperatures with abundant attractions. Afro

Both days the Blues took off with minimum delay in the same 6 jets they mounted during their opening ceremony and then flew flawless high shows. Afro

Quick picks - Skyhawk applies some generous napalm to assist the "downed pilot rescue."  Plus the Harrier...
