Just thought I'd pass this info along. From what I understand they will open the airport to the public for the flyin and you can also check out the aircraft already in the museum.

A few weeks late but the C-119 has made it's final flight to it's new home at the Hagerstown Aviation museum.

it was part of the Hawkins & Powers fleet that went up for auction in 2006, and donated by the winner from the auction to the museum
good to see you got it from the other end - I was at Greybull for the departure

Thanks, It was a great time despite the 30+ mph winds and freezing temps.

The weather was cold and blustery, but my son and I really enjoyed witnessing the arrival flight of the C-119 to Hagerstown. I am sorry that Flying Boxcar will now be permanently grounded, but it is a great addition to the museum and complements their C-82 quite well.

Nice shots
! Moody...
My dad's first squadron rotation took place in the late 1960s with a Starfighter squadron from Ghedi, Italy. When the Dutch ground-crew was flown back from Ghedi to Volkel over the Alps in an Italian C-119, they decided to play a little and started moving from one side of the fuselage to the other to annoy the pilots. Well, they just opened those big clampshell doors at the back of the fuselage in response. After that, everybody just sat down quietly.
