A new display featuring A-6E and EA-6B gate guards the NAS Whidbey Island entrance on Rte 20.

...and about a mile and a half from my house actually. It's nicely lit up at night as well. It's also nice in that it's not the entrance to the base that it indicates but the begining of the whole city. The people here are very supportive of the base.

Went out on Saturday. Only got pictures of the airpark inside the main gate. Saw a couple of B-1s and C-130 take off but to far for a photo. Thought I'd share some of the photos. Not sure whether to place this under museums or base visits Undecided.

Great shots, Robert, looks like a fairly solid airpark.  I love how they have a GENIE on display with the F-89, and that's a fine looking Oscar Deuce at the very bottom.

Does anyone have pics of the gate guards of Cecil Field when she was an NAS? Also I heard the F/A-18 in front of NAS JAX is fairly "new" (past 5 years or so) anyone know what it was before hand?

I have seven pictures of NAS Cecil static displays taken in Sept 1996 posted on www.airliners.net.  The seven are the S-3, F/A-18, A-7, F-8, F9F, S-2, and TBM.

Well kept display of RF-84, RF-101 & T-33 at Hattiesburg Municipal (MS), plus a pair of derelict (civilian) Dakota's at the far side of the airfield.

In Meridian (MS) city along the 39 towards NAS Meridian is this T-2 sitting on a pole. It's sister at the NAS main gate is looking better, but was off limits for a photo.
