I can't say thank you enough to Fence Check, David Schultz, and Tyndall Public Affairs for making this photopit happen. The hospitality we received today was above and beyond anything I was expecting. As you can see in the photos below, the location we were provided was simply outstanding Afro Afro

1. The flatbed trailer on the left was used by David Schultz and his crew to conduct the show. The trailer on the right was for Fence Check!
2. Our area in front of the trailers (you are only seeing about half of it in this view). There was plenty of room for everyone.
3. On your mark, get set, shoot!

I expect there were many outstanding photos taken today and even more will be taken tomorrow. The year of the Fence Check photopit has begun!

I broke the white line a lot but just to get a better angle so I did not wander out of it usually would have a foot in the box and a foot out of it.

And the show is over...
It was really great to meet you guys in person!
I would like to thank all people who helped to organize this pit! Special thanks to Dave Shultz, Thomas Bonifay, Lt. Amanda Ferrell, Liza and Roger. You guys did a very job!
I am coming back to Poland in next two weeks. Then I will post my pictures. I just need to take a closer look on them and select the best.

Good to hear you all had a great time.  I had little to do with the organization of this first Photopit.

All credit goes to Liza, Dave Shultz and Lt. Ferrell.  Thanks so much for making this a success with hopefully many photopits to follow!

The Tyndall AFB airshow photopit has raised the bar a bunch! Afro  Now I'm spoiled.  Superlatives to the USAF, Tyndall AFB, Dave Shultz, and Fence Check management.  Wow!
Photos: FC'ers getting organized before heading to the base gate; Lined up and taking in the action; Paying homage to our on-site benefactor who shared his front yard.  Afro

I was in/out (mostly the latter) of the Photopit. The USAF needed my help elsewhere and when duty calls, duty calls.

The Photopit setup was amazing!! Unobstructed, front-row center. Forget about having to buy the big iron with a vantage point like this. I was "over-lensed" with the 500mm and I'll bet the many 100-400's didn't dial in more than 300mm from the pit. It was like the show was just for FenceCheckers and the other 50,000 just happened to be there.

Nice meeting FC'rs.

Allow me to add my thanks to Mr Schultz and Liza. And Lt Ferrell, thank you not only for your help here, but also for your service to our great country.

Helps that Howard and Dave are good friends. He can get away with that.

Words cannot convey how happy it makes me to know everyone was pleased.

lisa, please is just not a word you could use to cover this. not only the access we had, but its always a bit more fun not to have to walk a couple miles with
 a heavy bag, etc.

Great job done by all you organizers!!!!!!!!! Please take a bow and receive our thanks for a job very well done.

in spite of my redneck incitations, i never heard ,not even one word of criticism or complaining!!! Way to go other Fence checkers. may mean an invite to
return someday.

It was a great opportunity for all there. I had fun and got a bit sunburned but thats ok. Now I have to sort thru all my pictures and see which ones I should keep and what to trash.  Any pointer from you more experieced photographers?

Oh and I see I'm in a few pics but you can only see the back of my Combat Archer shirt....

Glad to hear the photopit worked!  Afro

I would be careful throwing away stuff too fast. Normally I start deleting with stuff like aircraft compositions which are missing the tail or nose. Also unfocused pictures could go. Would save the rest though even if they have 'funny' colors, tilted horizons, etc. Much can be fixed in photoshop afterwards. Photoshop skills might grow over the years. I found it very satisfying going through old stuff after some years and edit those pictures, improving quality.
