Don't remember being allowed to stay on the ramp for departures that day? I was down at the runway shooting into the light, but that was years before I knew you!

Hi Kev, Happy New Year
If my memory serves me I think they were kicking people of at the time of these shots. I got nothing else taxiing except these Soesterbergs.

I think I didn't stay around, as Brize had a Photocall on that day too (... now where are those slides...) Happy days....Just wish i had been a better photographer back then (actually wish I was a better photographer now too!!  Cheesy )

I'm really excited about these. We were in Orlando New Years day, and we cruised by the airport to do a little plane spotting, and we hit the jackpot! These 4 Eagles had done the flyover for the football game that day and were sitting on the ramp. We talked to the folks at signature and they walked  us out on the ramp where I got these photos. The last one, to my suprise, had a kill to it's credit!

What is the tail number of the Mirage Kill F-15?

79-0021 should still be assigned to the 2nd FS and that was one of two F-15s to get Mirage kills on the 19th January 1991. The other one was 79-0069 and last year that was the 33rd FW Wing CC's jet, so unless that one has also moved to Tyndall I'd think it was 021, although the nose markings differ from the one in the A-Net image I just googled from last year. It was also marked as the 2nd FS Flagship. Hopefully our friend here has got clearer shots of the sunny sides?

79-0021. It got it's kill on 19 Jan 91 with an AIM-7M. The kill was made by LT. David G. Sveden, assigned to the 525th TFS, Bitburg AB, Germany (thanks to Eagle Engaged for the info.)
