@ all

someone was talking about a F-14 going to Hawaii is that correct?

Any info is welcome

-tom
It's landing at North Island tomorrow and being barged to Hawaii at a later date.

I contacted Nas North Island ops and they said Felix 102 will be in the custody of the San Diego Aircraft Carrrier Museum until 102 leaves for Hawaii. NAS North Island also plans to display 102 at the California Speed Festival onboard NAS North Island the second weekend in October. The Speed Festival is part of Fleet Week in San Diego that starts this weekend with a parade of ships and closes October 13, 14, and 15 with the Miramar Air Show.

Personally, I'm enjoying these updates on the progress of some of the last Navy F-14 flights ... as well as the palpable excitement and frantic scrambling of the people trying to see them.

what a day!

immense thanks to "skychief" for the heads up this morning - and sorry to Dave for calling you out of the blue all excited  Embarrassed whip

manged an 8 hour round trip to Grand Junction where the FBO couldn't have been any better (this was after a 2 day round trip to N WY - I'm shagged! 1580 miles, 24:50 hours driving accouring to my car computer thingy)

just me and a local TV station saw 103 come in and depart - yay 2 flights for the price of one!  Cheesy

it was great to stand 5 feet beyond the wingtip as 103 taxied out and split my ear drums!   Dance!

thanks CA! today rocked

I'll try to post over the weekend between working 12 hour shifts and sleeping

here's a couple from Grand Junction, CO to be getting on with

clear blue sky, sun behind you, great backdrop and a Tomcat - what could be better

I have 237 shots to sort through so the rest will take longer

Kev, is that a bit of dust on your sensor or an airliner taking off under the left horizontal stab in your splendid shot of AJ-103?   Evil
