I checked the Little Rock AFB website and it mentions the F-22 and the F-15 as "aerial events".  I've checked the ACC schedules and they don't show LR AFB as having the Raptor demo.  I was curious if anyone had some inside scoop out there.

It would be possible to have a raptor from Tyndall do flyovers. The F-15 could be reserve ones or other active duty doing flyovers. In both cases, they would not be listed on the ACC site. These events would have been "booked" directly with the bases and not through ACC.

Airpower Arkansas now has a dedicated website: http://www.airpowerarkansas.com/

Additions to the performers are:

C-17 Demo
C-130J Demo
Little Rock AFB C-130 Capabilities Demo (mass paratrooper & equipment drop)

Note: I didn't see a listing for the Fighter Jets Inc, and the F-22A listed on the LRAFB website will be a static aircraft.

Has anyone had contact with LRAFB Public Affairs Office in the past and if so how did they treat you - I am trying to obtain some press credentials to get in for shots - but so far all calls to the telephone numbers are either a recording about the show or a number that rings forever.
Maybe it to early to make a decision - but so far no one has committed to the show (per web site) F22 and F15 are all I have seen and they are listed in they "display" area of the web site.

I tried to contact the PAO office on 8/28 and sent them an email and have not heard anything.  I will advise if I contact them.  I've not worked with them before so I can't say how easy or difficult getting media credentials might be.

On a different note, I wouldn't be surprised if the 188th FW A-10's make an appearance at this show.

Just an update on the LRAFB PAO "issue".  I've been in contact with the PAO office and if anyone needing to get a hold of will PM me I'll forward you their contact information.

On another note, this air show is a "sleeper" for sure (just check the 2006 thread) among the airshow circut.  The lighting is absolutely perfect the whole day (you're shooting to the north) and at this time of year (we might be just a tad early for the leaves to change though) you just can't beat the weather.

Andrew,
I have tried calling the PAO numbers listed on the Airpower Arkansas web site and the LRAFB web site and either got an airshow info recording or just a ringing number. Either way I agree the she is a sleeper, unless, you can get some press credentials and then maybe hop a flight for some air-to-air shots. The only thing attracting me was the F22, if I could get in early on Friday and catch her arrival - other than that "No Thanks"
Press credentials did get me airborne with the #3 C-130 out of 9 in the CAPEX demo about 10-12 years ago - havent decided if trying that route is worth it or not. But I was legitimate media at the time too.

Airpower Arkansas website shows some update to the static lineup - if that can swade someone to attend. If you are a Herkie Bird fan then those shots maybe good. M-22 is only thing along with F-22 that looks good so far.

Andy,

My first time at Little Rock AFB for an airshow.  The site states backpacks/large camera bags are not permitted.  Are they strict on this or can I get my expedtion 7 backpack in?

Are you going to be there both days?

Are you interested in meeting and having a FC get toghether?

Any other FC's going?

Being an AFB I imagine they will be strict about this.  I'll be wearing my photo vest to carry my extra lens, flash, cards, etc.  I've heard stories at AFB's of people even having letters from the PAO and being turned away where bags are searched because a photo bag / backpack didn't meet the rule.

I'll be there both days.  The weather is going to be absolutely beautiful, typical fall day here in the Natural state, clear skies and low 70's.  It will be dry though so don't get your hopes up for any good vapor.  I'll have the whole Thomas clan in tow on Saturday, plus some friends from work and such we'll be situated at one end of the crowd line (I never set up in the middle but that's just me).  I'll be flying solo or just with my assistant on Sunday and probably shooting from the media trailer.  If you want to swing by and hang out or just say "hi" please do, shoot me a text message and I'll let you know where we are set up, my cell number is on my website.

I'd go for an FC get together some evening but I'm swamped with family obligations all weekend, fall festivals, homecomings, you name it..........otherwise I'd love to get together with the FC'ers that will be in town.

I imagine there are more than a few FC'ers that will be at this show as it's awesome lighting wise, sun is at your back all day.
