Eagle Demo was more of a vapor show, than anything else, I have seen of the SE.

Thanks Keith!  We'll let Claudia from KION know it's here.  Nice shots everyone.  Hope you enjoyed the show.  We had a blast putting it on and are already booking 2009.  Any suggestions?

We are considering setting up Photo Pit Area/Static Advance of Gate Tour....any thoughts on that?

For consideration...  The Media area is basically good short of letting us shoot better quality from the other side of the field.  Shooting into the sun is the pits.  The minor things that hindered me this weekend was the super sound system speaker blocking some shots.  The volume of the speaker required ear plugs- but great quality audio!  Travis had a large elevated platform for us.  It was perfect for being able to shoot over passing vehicles and staff waking by.  Ideally, a platform that has two levels would be the ticket.  This would allow you to put twice as many shooters in the same width and reduce the number of shots we take of each other instead of the performers.  This would change the concept of the seating, tables, and umbrellas in the media area but those can be worked out.  The elevated two level platform would be my very first choice for improvement.  The second(and big wish) item is negotiating with the FAA and other interests for an optional media only zone on the opposite side of the runway.  Since I shoot both video and stills, some things are bigger issues for me.  Shooting stills, it's easy to avoid other shooters.  When shooting video, it's darn near impossible to get a good clear panning zone that varies between 180-360 degrees.  This may never be cured, but could be improved with a platform.  The very last item, and one we all deal with, is parking.  Some of the media is young- I'm not one of them.  Having to carry all the equipment for a mile through the crowd is a challenge.  This is a bit more of a safety issue when shouldering a large tripod that could hit a guest when in a dense crowd.  Hence, please consider a small dedicated area we could park as close the media tent as you parking design would permit.  This is my best shot for constructive inputs.  If you wish to get more input from me, I'll be more than happy to help.  If you wish to have better communication with me, send me a private message with your email address.  I'll give you mine and my phone number.  Hope this helps you and eventually the rest of us. Smiley

We're looking at possibly offering a "Photo Pit Pass/Static Tour" much like Dayton did this year.  With a separate location and ticket and tour - away from the loud speakers and the local media.  Looking at this years layout - we would have put the Pit right in front of the "Hornet's Nest" along the throat/plane recovery area.  As far as the "across the runway" photo area, do you mean - where the "wall of fire" normally is or over by the Tower?  The ramp parking is an issue - especially along the fire lanes - and can be avoided by asking for a shuttle service for your video equipment....the marketing department typically has 2-3 golf carts at their disposal and there's also a courtesy shuttle provided to all visitors of the airshow....just call - the media coordinator provides contact information on all correspondences.  Keith - look for some direct contact down the road on other details.

We would be talking about near the Tower or out by the end of your closed runway, the number seems to have slipped my mind at the moment. We are looking for the best light and for most of the day it would between those spots. The problem I see is your active runway would be close to us and that may be a safety threat. With that in mind how about near the back gate? There is an old gate gaurd not in use just south of the field. That would also be an ideal spot to shoot from.

Thanks.
