Awesome shots! I bow to your panning skills, great background blur.
Any possibility you could show a before and after pic of the F104 and P51 and give a quick tutorial on your post processing? You really have it nailed.

I don't have any before and after pics for those images, That's how they came out of the camera. My idea of digital photography is a simple one. Get it right in the camera. Meaning get the exposure right in the camera so you have little post process work.

On the F-104 shot, I shot it 1/100th @ F/11 ISO 100 in Shutter priority with +2/3 Exposure Compensation.

And the P-51 shot, I shot it 1/200th @ F/14 ISO 100 in shutter priority and no Exposure Compensation. Both shots were handheld, no monopod. Body and lense combo, Canon 20D and 400mm F/5.6L USM.

The only post process work I did to them was a small level adjustment, resized to 900X600, unsharp mask, a touch of color saturation and added copyright mark.

Here's another panning shot, it's a little soft but still postable

OK, it would be so much easier for my images to stand out if you all would channel your inner lousy photographer and take some bad photos for a change!  Sharp, perfectly exposed, artfully framed images of difficult moving subjects are highly overrated!   

Seriously, well done Liza, Steve, Craig, and Dan (and others I probably missed).   

I think there was almost as much talent at Oceana on the ground holding long lenses as there was in the air!
