Just noticed their website has been updated a bit.  We're really looking forward to spending our last show of the season down on Walt and Nicole's 'home turf'.

I really enjoy going to this show. Although its not great to take pictures. It is nice to take a break from the camera and actually watch the show. Smiley

I have 2 questions, hopefully someone can help me out with some answers.  I will be in town on the Friday and would like to take some pictures of any arrivals or practicing demos.  I know military demos usually practice on the day before the air show to familiarize themselves with the airport geography, does anyone know if this is the case here?  Also, has anyone ever tried to take pictures from outside of the airport gates?

Thanks for any help,
Shawn

I don't have the full schedule yet (and probably won't until I'm onsite), but from what I recall from 2 years ago, and the way it's sounding this year, there will be a practice/media session on Friday and then later they go into the evening show/sponsor party/"Dirty Flight Suit" party that is now open to the public for a price.  I'm not certain where they'll be using the military hardware in all that, I think we're just doing DT as part of the practice/media show.

Hi folks... I'm one of the show coordinators (Military Side).. yes, we do have a practice show on Friday... from about 11:15 until 1:15 pm.  Some planes will start arriving on Thursday, the bulk of them on Friday.   Demo fighters will beat up the pattern on Thursday also, when they arrive in the area, before heading over to their staging location.  F-15, F-16 and F-18 demos this year.     See you there!  Don M.

Spent the first half of Friday on site taking some pictures of a couple of arrivals and some practice.  The HF shows just how bad the lighting conditions are.  Too bad too because the show has a decent line up.

I was there.  I am very disappointed in how my pictures came out as we had to shoot into the sun.  I was hoping I could get a lot of the same pictures tomorrow at KSC but the KSC airshow is sold out.

Planes that I was disappointed that didn't show up that were supposed to:

C-17
C-45 Expeditor
CH-47 Chinook

However, we got surprises of planes that weren't advertised on the website

C-2 Greyhound - have only seen once before in person
2 E-2 Hawkeyes instead of 1
2 C-130s instead of one - a classic Navy version and a modern 2006 built one
Coast Guard not advertised  - brought a HU-25 and a Dolphin chopper
2 B-25s instead of 1
and a flying demo with the CH-46
F-4 flyby, which wasn't on the site - hoping it would be part of the heritage flight but it wasn't.

Poor Stuart airshow, never gets much love...  Cry

Yes, one of the downsides of the Stuart show is the backlighting conditions from the airshow side. If I might make a suggestion for next year, call one of the FBO's on the west side of the field, and ask to be added to their guest list.

Both have optimal lighting conditions, including free lunch!!!

Hee hee - and party over there they did.  Having a whole other crowd on that side of the field made our far-away takeoff much more interesting as we flew right over all those folks having barbecues at their hangars!  Even without my glasses on I could see them waving to us on the wings.
Nice shots!
