Nice angle Paul!  Thanks. Afro

The white tail stripe on 15 was just painted on.  I don't know why they keep changing their design.  I like the blue one like 8216, 7042  and 7044 have.  The blue they use pops TRAVIS at you in itself.  White just reminds me of Wright-Patterson.  BOOOO!

Nice shot of Eddie's Yak-9U.  What lens did you use?

That was shot with my 70-200mm F2.8 at 1/500th F5.6 +0.33 ISO 100 and it was heavily cropped. It was from Friday and he never got close on Friday, but that one came out pretty good I think.

Thanks.  Smiley

I was using the same on friday.  Did you shoot in raw mode?  The photo really pops the red.

Yes, I always shoot in raw. When I save it to a .jpeg I loose a little bit of color. In the raw file it is really RED.  Afro

Cool! This is only my second airshow since upgrading to the 40D from not SLRs.  Still a lot to digest, but was heavy into 35mm and 2 1/4 many years ago.
Here's a shot od Eddie on approach- my closest shot.

That one looks pretty good to me. The 40D is a nice body and collects more info then the XTI. You'll be very happy with it. It took myself about 3 years to learn and fully understand how digital works.

Where were you, that we didn't run into each other on Friday?

Time for some take-offs & landings! This first one I'd like to call my "Just how much crap can get into your photo" photo.  Cheesy

Wow Eddie -- great shots! I notice your shutter speed is much lower than mine, and many other shots I see around here, and your pics are incredibly sharp at what you say are close crops -- is that a function of the 2.8 lens -- being able to shoot the fast movers at lower shutter speeds (generally I thought 1/1000 was the sweet spot). Naturally I'm also assuming your panning technique is much smoother than mine, too  Smiley Great work -- love the shot with all the stuff in it too!
