May try to make this one depending on economy (aka price of a gallon of gas).

I may go also..  but did anyone notice:  The following items will not be permitted on base:   Walkie-Talkies or HAM radios.
Strange.. I'm guessing they include scanners in with these, although they do not transmit..

Most shows will depend on how the security people have been briefed. Shows do not want items that can transmit for fear of interupting comms. It has happened at shows where a radio has shifted and caused an open mic. It is an innocent mistake, but can cause a lot of problems. I would try to take the scanner and, if questioned, point out that it cannot transmit. It only receives. Worse thing, you may have to walk it back to the car.

Will the Saab be there? There is a photo of the Saab on their site... maybe?

I guess I'll try to make this, it's been so long I forgot if the light is any good.  Roll Eyes

If you mean the Draken, is it still airworthy?  The last photos I've seen of it in the air are from Travis' last show 3 years ago.  It certainly hasn't been at the last couple of Sacramento shows.

I saw the Draken last week, which is based over at Stockton Field. Spoke with the owner and he says the plane is for sale.

Hi Roger. My understanding was that it wouldn't fly until the airplane was sold. Perhaps I had misunderstood.

He mentioned it was airworthy, but your probably correct in that it isn't flying until sold or thereafter.

Big news! Cal Taylor's C-133 website is reporting that the Alaska based and last airworthy C-133, N199AB, will make a last flight to Travis for permanent display at their museum. The plan has the aircraft arriving during the air show over Labor Day weekend. I don't have a link handy for Cal's website, but Google will get you there. I can't freaking believe it.
