The new chairman for the show is a member here and I'm sure will see the suggestion.  Wink

I'm not sure if that would work or not. The other runway, Runway 16/34 dimensions are 3901 x 75 ft. The runway that is currently the one they use at Mt. Comfort is Runway 7/25 and it's dimensions are 5500 x 100 ft. Due to runway length on 7/25, quite a few performers are limited to only flyby's at Mt. Comfort and are staged out of IND. Using runway 16/34 might limit some of the heavy bombers that frequent the show also.

Just a thought.

Wow, first contest entry and I get recognized. Cool. Particularly since those pictures are so good with the challenging lighting that we had.

They also sent a really nice ribbon that I received today. It's going to be framed with the photo which I just printed at 12x18.

Here is my first picture from Sunday morning as I was driving into the parking lot. It's my favorite photo from the show. Shooting into the sun (brighter area of the sky!) highlighted all the dust on my lens that I had not yet checked. I didn't make time to correct all the spots on it before the deadline, so I didn't even enter it. Besides, I was taking the no photoshopping to heart and didn't use photoshop on any of my entries except to rotate the crooked horizon on one or two. I figured that would be like rotating the negative on the enlarger, and was just as much a valid part of photography as setting the exposure.

Normally my philosophy is to use the tools available. Better cameras, better film, better papers is what proceeded the digital sensor, computer software, and stitching that I use to its fullest now to make 200+ Megapixel photos. That's just me though, and I do fully understand the extra challenge getting the shot in one press of the button. The winners clearly got that too. Congratulations to all of them!

I went back to resize these for here and am wondering why I submitted what I did... (those pictures that didn't win anything). Just goes to show... Finish early so you can put it aside for a few days or a week and then take a fresh look at it rather than wait until the last two days and stay up too late and make dumb choices... Cheesy

Good learning experience. I look at last years stuff and cringe. I'll do the same a year from now, I'm sure. But I look forward to that very much!
