Sunday the mountain was out all day so we could get some nice scenic stuff, and the third shot is where I'd like to shoot my next airshow from...

And finally a Fence Check exclusive - the first shot of the new ORA-10! The "aircraft" appears to be assigned to the 12FTW at Randoplh, what it was doing in the static at McChord is anybody's guess...

I've been a lurker for some time, but finally decided to come out regarding the McChord Air Show.  Was a great day and a good time was had by all.  Even with the traffic, the F-18 high speed pass was worth the effort.

I had to comment on the issue of the books in TB#5.  I went to one of my photos and blew it up.  No question those were books!  I noticed them when I was reviewing the shots I took.

Too funny.

Thanks,
Zam

I concur, it was a good show despite the traffic.  (Two hours to get out of the parking area, then another hour sitting on I-5 due to an accident.  Uggh!  Roll Eyes .)

I'm surprised nobody's posted any static Barneys yet.  The half-dozen or so parked on the ramp north of the heavy static were well-positioned for group shots.  And cheers to whoever left the intake covers off the front one. Smiley

The F-15, F/A-18, Tora^3 and T-birds were great, but I thought the C-17 demos -- both the three-ship airdrop and the solo display -- were the highlight.

Everybody sing the Barney song: "I love, you, you love me, let's go airlift a tank or three..."

Mark,

Your shots are interesting. I passed these aircraft on my way out of the base. There's one compositon to include Rainier in the backgound and the sunshine was perfect. But I didn't dare to jump off the car and put my lens against the fence to get the shot, or it would be the best shot from this trip to McChord.  Embarrassed

Comparison with the C-17s in the foreground, the mountain looked much bigger in that composition.

And thanks to these guys for delaying their takeoff long enough that I could get in a beer run.  I think David appreciated it too.   Cheers

David, Skyline, the Smallenbergs, Riff Raff, Falcon12, and others, it was good to see you again.  Dhfrat and fellow organizers, thanks for putting on a great show.  Afro

Great shots everyone!  Nice A-10 monster truck!  That thing is sweet!  I love the "good spot" on top of the C-5.  Lucky SOBs!  Also, its the first time I've seen 0600 as a McChord bird (last time I saw it, it was the Spirit of 9-11 at Altus).   Afro Cheers Cheers Cheers Helo

Geetings! I came across this forum while searching for Pacific NorthWest Airshow information last April. I try to schedule one vacation each year around an Airshow event.  My family and I drove up from the southern Oregon Coast on Saturday so we could attend the Sunday show.  Because I've been watching this forum and reading all the McChord updates since the spring, I felt compelled thank everyone here for the great updates and information provided to probably the best Airshow I've had the pleasure of seeing!! The Show was well worth the cost of fuel and lodging and I look forward to attending future shows at McChord.

I did my best to take pictures with my little camera, but it just doesn't have what it takes to get the close-ups.. so thanks to all that have been posting all of the gorgeous pictures here  Afro Afro Now I'm motivated to invest in the right equipment and learn how to use it properly!

Again, many many thanks go out to the McChord Airshow organizers for a fantastic show and the great folks here in this forum!!

Cheers,
