This 82 year old B-17 pilot built this plane in 1990. The plane has around 1800 hours on it.  The prop was also built by the pilot.  That is amazing aviation passion.

Yes, both occupants walked away having been helped out after the airplane finished upside down.

Quite a shock for me too - 30 years watching airplanes and I've never seen an accident, and seeing that sure put me off flying the PA-28 I usually fly frequently for a few days.

The oldest memory I have is of off a J-3?... at least it's yellow.. from 1941.
